Two Heads Better
Your HB
You pulled up
you parked
you were driving a pick up
but when you got out
I could not get enough
Suspected you were
married with children
but never expected
in a million years
I’d be lucky enough to hear
You were ready
and waiting for me
and I became
your one and only HB
oh, honey bunny
as you started calling me
And maybe, honey,
I’ll turn out to always be
your honey bunny
for short
you call me your HB
but you’re never
short on love
for me
Got my nerve up
to spark
casual conversation
but had no doubts
about my motivation
Detected I ‘d be
a future you could build on
but never expected
in a billion years
I’d be lucky enough to hear
you were steadily
hoping for me
to become
your one and only HB
oh, honey bunny
as you started calling me
And maybe, honey,
I’ll turn out to always be
your honey bunny
for short
you call me your HB
but you’re never
short on love
for me
Happy to be
your honey bunny
You’ve no idea
the favor
you’ve done me
Call me HB,
shows that
you love me
And, I’m never
short on love…
Nothing short of HB
I’d always hoped to be
And never ever
run short
of your love
for me,
my honey bunny
oh, honey bunny
as you started calling me
And maybe, honey,
I’ll turn out to always be
your honey bunny
for short
you call me your HB
but you’re never
short on love
for me
love for me
I’m your HB
love for me
I’m your HB

Best of Luck, But I Wish It Was Me
I’ve been told all the best ones
will, for always, be taken
by a much better someone
and I’m always forsaken
and that I should pack it in
no matter how long that it’s been
I may be a future wedding guest
who’ll wish you all the best,
I wish you the best of luck,
but, I wish it was me
who was engaged to you
heading for eternity
promising all my days to you
down on one knee
Oh, wouldn’t you know
that it was just my luck
that someone beat me
to give you that ring
swearing to be to you
yours in so many ways
while I wish you the best of luck
but, I wish it was me
I can’t be the only one,
but I may be mistaken
and one day I’ll awaken
and accept you’ve been taken
And maybe my timing’s not right
and maybe I lack the foresight
and all that’s left to do I guess
is wish you all the best
I wish you the best of luck,
but I wish it was me
who was engaged to you
heading for eternity
promising all my days to you
down on one knee
Oh, wouldn’t you know
that it was just my luck,
that someone beat me
to give you that ring
swearing to be to you
yours in so many ways
while I wish you the best of luck
but, I wish it was me
All this passion that’s gone to waste
and all I’m left with is distaste
on ever getting sweet on you
from here comes the bride in my head
to down the aisle, give you away
Hey, yeah
Your diamond sparkles in my eyes
the way that I thought you and I
would radiate in formal dress
while everyone wishes us all the best
I wish you the best of luck,
but I wish it was me
who was engaged to you
heading for eternity
promising all my days to you
down on one knee
Oh, wouldn’t you know
that it was just my luck,
that someone beat me
to give you that ring
swearing to be to you
yours in so many ways
while I wish you the best of luck
but, I wish you the best of luck,
but I wish it was me
who was engaged to you
heading for eternity
promising all my days to you
down on one knee
Oh, wouldn’t you know
that it was just my luck,
that someone beat me
to give you that ring
swearing to be to you

while I wish you the best of luck
but, I wish it was me

We Were on a Break!
If you ever knew
or had a clue
what my intentions were
when I first went out,
ahead of you,
met another who
returned my affections
without asking her to
We had said
goodbye somehow,
but just didn’t know
it’s just for now
And though we put it
back together again,
her name came up,
I took no blame
’cause we were on a break!
Make no mistake,
your accusations
are unfounded,
now back from our break
Got amnesty
from all that happened
during that space
we were on a break
We were on a break!
I tell you something…
We were on a break!
High fidelity
is what you’re telling’ me
should be policy
if a break up breaks out
instead of me
getting clemency
I’d suffer for my actions
with full penalty
And though we said
goodbye for now,
the rules still apply
to me somehow
And now we’ve put it
back together again,
her relevance,
fades from view
’cause we were on a break!
Make no mistake,
your accusations
are unfounded,
now back from our break
Got amnesty
from all that happened
during that space
we were on a break
We were on a break!
I tell you something…
We were on a break!
In the wake of our break
I headed for a neutral zone,
out on my own
And, for my actions
in that brief window
you won’t leave me alone
(It’s so unfair)
’cause we were on a break!
Make no mistake,
your accusations
are unfounded,
now back from our break
Got amnesty
from all that happened
during that space
we were on a break
We were on a break!
I tell you something…
We were on a break!

Love At First Fight!
Cordial, I smiled
when I first saw you,
but not altogether right
‘Cause then we defied
attraction laws
too strong to deny
Your opposition calling,
and it’s got me falling
Got us intertwined,
conflicted,
in love at first fight!
Verbal riptides,
these words that
break like waves
don’t necessarily define
‘Cause there’s yet this fire,
burns more like lovers’ flames
in the heat of denial
Conflicting views appalling,
but it’s got me falling,
as it all unwinds,
to leave us,
in love at first fight!
Told myself love started when
I’d see a face then start pretending
and defending that it’s so right
But since I first argued with you
I’ve got the best happy endings
and love at first fight
Fake love resides
in rom com fantasies,
their ticket holders in denial
but, maybe love collides
in word cacophony,
and picking fights
will spark desire
Put up our dukes,
we’re brawling,
tension’s got me falling
as as we recognize,
we’ve fallen
in love at first fight!
in love at first fight!
in love at first fight!

Alyssa With an E
You wanna be so free
to be who you wanna be
and you made it clear
you don’t like me
to confidentially
even think differently
and to only see
the life you lead
A one way street,
one philosophy,
one way to see
as if to believe
and she’ll give me grief
on one more thing
yeah
That’s “Alyssa” with an “E”
when she corrected it to me
“It’s ‘E-lyssa’ if you please”
she’d say, berating me
Elizabeth Louise
wasn’t who she wants to be
So Alyssa With an E
drivin’ me crazy
tonight
You refuse to eat meat
with leather on your feet
Spurs dug in your steed,
you look down on me
Your high horse rearing up
above my peasantry,
but no pleasantries
just your decrees
A two way street,
a catastrophe
Might as well be
foreign policy
As she’ll gives me grief
on one more thing
yeah
That’s “Alyssa” with an “E”
when she corrected it to me
“It’s ‘E-lyssa’ if you please”
she’d say, berating me
Elizabeth Louise
wasn’t who she wants to be
So Alyssa With an E
drivin’ me crazy
tonight
Debating with my roommate
Dukes it out like doomsday
Maybe at one time
it was entertaining
But then it really got so played
I can’t believe it to this day
A miracle we made it
without that fuckin’ “A”
That’s “Alyssa” with an “E”
when she corrected it to me
“It’s ‘E-lyssa’ if you please”
she’d say, berating me
Elizabeth Louise
wasn’t who she wants to be
So Alyssa With an E
drivin’ me crazy
“Alyssa” with an “E”
is how she corrected it to me
“It’s ‘E-lyssa’ if you please”
she’d say, berating me
Elizabeth Louise
wasn’t who she wants to be
So Alyssa With an E
drivin’ me crazy
tonight

Deserve You
When you look up to me
I feel like I can fly
I get these superpowers
and no one can explain why
But you should know
that someone out there
does for you what
most would not dare
Swoop in just in time
no matter what it takes to do
I want to tell you something,
don’t mean to disturb you
I would have sooner, but
I lost my will and nerve to
But, like a superhero’s duty
to preserve truth,
I have to save you from
a man who don’t deserve you
who don’t deserve you
When you look up at me,
you shine like kryptonite
Which might explain
the loss for words,
my speech gets paralyzed
But you should know
that someone near you
knows someone near you
is not true
Swoop in just in time
no matter what it takes to do
I want to tell you something,
don’t mean to disturb you
I would have sooner, but
I lost my will and nerve to
But, like a superhero’s duty
to preserve truth,
I have to save you from
a man who don’t deserve you
who don’t deserve you
Closely guarded is
my true identity, yeah,
Disregarded,
as I face your enemies
And you should know
someone fights for you
When someone to you is untrue
Swoops in just in time
no matter what it takes to do
I want to tell you something,
don’t mean to disturb you
I would have sooner, but
I lost my will and nerve to
But, like a superhero’s duty
to preserve truth,
I have to save you from
a man who don’t deserve you
I want to tell you something,
don’t mean to disturb you
I would have sooner, but
I lost my will and nerve to
But, like a superhero’s duty
to preserve truth,
I have to save you from
a man who don’t deserve you
who don’t deserve you

One More
Tonight I wish upon a star
eyes closed tight and there you are
If it’s a dream I hope I don’t come to
In my head it’s all but done
but am I the one and only one
who knows it well, or can you see it too?
Will it be this time,
don’t you realize, can’t you see
that up here on this brightest star,
you’re sitting next to me?
I’ve come down from this high
so many times before
So please be sure
you don’t let me endure
one more
Eyes are tired, but I can’t sleep,
praying dreams of you will keep some
hope alive that you can see them too
It’s something that I can’t ignore
Something I’ve been looking for
I know it when I see it, and I see you
Will it be this time,
don’t you realize, can’t you see
that up here on this brightest star,
you’re sitting next to me?
I’ve come down from this high
so many times before
So please be sure
you don’t let me endure
one more
Will this end up finally
that, other than me,
someone sees?
Will you look, oh will you see?
Will you know it just like me?
And, will you see in time to see it through?
Will it be this time,
don’t you realize, can’t you see
that up here on this brightest star,
you’re sitting next to me?
I’ve come down from this high
so many times before
So please be sure
you don’t let me endure
one more

Driven Unsung Champion
I rise before the radio breaks my sleep
always thinking too early while the world counts sheep
Restless, lie there I’m thinking ‘bout what to do
when my wheels hit the tarmac and
race toward you and feel this drive
Somehow knew it was not the last time we’d meet
It felt more like I’m beginning a winning streak
Maybe I was taken already per se
but I’m so taken with you
it changed my game in record time
I’ve gotten nowhere fast, come in dead last,
been told a win just can’t be done
But I will race, be your first place,
be your driven unsung champion
Driven unsung champion
I drove to a place that unbeknownst to me
I would walk in the door and then there you’d be
another familiar person would introduce
and make another acquaintance of me to you
It’s no surprise
I’ve gotten nowhere fast, come in dead last,
been told a win just can’t be done
But I will race, be your first place,
be your driven unsung champion
Driven unsung champion
Driven at the starting line
when we were introduced
I won the race at record pace,
but would I win with you?
Track record speed,
it fuels this need
to be in the lead with you…
I’ve gotten nowhere fast, come in dead last,
been told a win just can’t be done
But I will race, be your first place
be your driven unsung champion
I’ve gotten nowhere fast, come in dead last,
been told a win just can’t be done
But I will race, be your first place
be your driven unsung champion
unsung champion
driven unsung champion
